Speech Topic : Less is More – The Use of Aluminum in Automotive BIW to Reduce Weight & Improve Sustainability for Automotive Solutions.
Professor Mark White is the Technical Director for Alumobility & leads technical studies to demonstrate the most effective application of aluminum solutions in Automotive relative to an OEM reference.
Prior to joining Alumobility, Mark was Body Chief Engineer at JLR, working at JLR for nearly 30 years, much of that time leading the application of light weight solutions for many JLR models, including the D7u & D7a platforms. Mark’s last project for JLR was the Jaguar I-Pace Battery Electric Vehicle AIV body.
Mark was also a Chief Technical Specialist for light weight vehicle technology working with the Ford Motor Company on the aluminum intensive vehicle (AIV) strategy & led the first production application with the 2002 Jaguar XJ sedan, the worlds first riv-bonded aluminum unibody AIV structure.
Mark is also the Chairman of the Industrial Advisory Board at the Brunel BCAST center & a professor at Brunel.
Mark also runs an automotive consultancy business specializing in light weighting & BIW technology solutions for a number of OEMs.
