Eren Yeager

Eren is very fearless, headstrong and determined. This leads him to a darker path, but also his greatest strength that let him escape the Walls in the first place.

In spite of Eren’s strong dedication, this can often lead to his obstinate arrogance, which ultimately can lead to him making reckless mistakes and decisions that put himself and others he cares about in great danger.

Armin is snapped awake from his profound disappointment towards his old friend-turned-enemy, preventing their still-remaining friendship from totally collapsing. But even so, the damage has already been done. This is the most ironic turn of events in the manga, because Armin the person to correctly suspect Eren’s contradictory act wasn’t his closest childhood friend (Armin) but instead Eren’s rival (Jean).

Through his development, Eren has recognized that everybody is the same including his enemies. For example Reiner and he were able to relate through both of their selfish goals rather than appearance of good and evil. He forgives Reaper and renounces his death threat from a few years back.

While Eren never seems to have been the traditional “villain-in-foresight,” his attitude was largely shaped by the trauma of seeing parents die at a young age and being forced to live in a walled city because of inheritances related to one’s family. It is later revealed that he knew the future via the ability of the Attack Titan, which resulted in deep depression, causing him to know more than those around him about how difficult it will be for his objectives to succeed.

After infiltrating Marley, Eren realized that the Eldians of the mainland are the Devils who are truly to blame for the problems faced by those in Marley. Henceforth, Eren gives up hope for a peaceful solution.

Written by Jean and Armin, the book takes place on a battle against unreal enemies. Ending up in The Survey Corps, they are often on missions to rid the world of colossal titans that threaten mankind. Later in their lifetime, Jean and Armin gradually realize that Eren’s allegiance is honored or broken based off his own interests. In order to stop Eren from destroying everything in his path the two do not wish for the deaths of fellow comrades.
