Superior Iron Man would make his debut in the Axis event, where the morality of Earth’s heroes was reversed by magic. Even after the spell was undone and most of Earth’s heroes reverted to their usual selves, Tony managed to shield himself and thus retained his evil personality.
Tony Stark, the dark hero and saint of modern society, has grown into an egotistical monster. Fed up with all the bad in the world, he has decided to infect ten percent of the population with a drug-like virus which will addict them and subject them to his strange ideas.
This version of Iron Man, who belonged to the Marvel Universe and was involved with the conflict in the ultimate universe, was killed during the incursion crisis in Issue #44 of the Avengers (2013). At the moment of his death, Captain America sacrificed himself to save him from the crashing helicarrier saying “Now you are my equal”, while they were both obliterated by being erased by a beam that scanned their bodies at once.
