Action Comics was first published in 1938. It has been published continuously since then. The series starts with Superman, described as an immigrant from Krypton who arrives on Earth with the power of flight, super strength, x-ray vision, and heat vision. He is met by a boy named Clark Kent and the two become fast friends. They start out fighting against criminals like The Joker but later they fight for justice as superheroes.
